Monterey Conference Center

Monterey. Ca

The Monterey Conference Center was recently renovated in order to attract more visitors and to encourage organizations to utilize the building for private functions. SOM Architects out of San Francisco was entrusted with creating the all new design which incorporated OKAWOOD insulated glass with integrated natural wood grilles.

The first floor of the Conference Center can accommodate expositions and large events. A second floor enables visitors to take in the views of the Monterey area. OKAWOOD insulated glass was used to create a flowing perimeter to the second floor. Overlapped, non-continuous panels are positioned along the top of the building. Views through the natural wood grilles are excellent and glare is substantially diminished.

OKAWOOD is also used throughout the Monterey Conference facility, creating warm interior spaces that have the character of natural wood and connect to the theme of the building. No maintenance is required to maintain the aesthetics of the OKAWOOD insulated glass, other than the occasional glass cleaning.
